From ZERO to $100K In VoiceOver - How I Did It!

I had lost my "secure" management job, my girlfriend and my self esteem all in the same week!

I was living the  life, or so I thought. I had a fun job managing one of the hottest clubs in town, frequented by celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls. Then one day the owner decided they wanted to go a different direction with the club and I was cut... Later that very same day I was dumped by my girlfriend, she didn't know I had been fired, but she too wanted to go different direction haha. 

Having just moved  into an expensive apartment and not much in the form of savings I started to panic.

But, often in life, In times of great despair we grow the most. I look at times like these like a gift.

I was forced to look at my life, where I was currently, how I got there, and where I really wanted to go.

I'd been trying to get an acting career going but was getting no where, and I'd worked in nightclubs for 15 years I didn't really have any other skills, but knew that, as I was getting older, my nightclub days were coming to a close quickly.

So I started looking for a side hustle that could sustain me financially while I pursuing my acting career.

And then it hit me! I'd always wanted to get into voiceover, and ever since I was a kid I was obsessed with cartoons and video games and did voices all the time! So I poured in countless hours of research and found that, the animation and video game industry was the smallest and most heavily gate kept part of the industry, but the much larger area of commercials, explainer videos, eLearning, corporate and industrial videos was not just much easier to break into, but you could work direct with the client and do it from your own home studio.

So with rent and bills looming, and my search for a new nightclub managing job underway, I went down to a local music shop and rented all the gear I'd need to get started in voiceover, bought the foam I'd need to set up a recording space off of amazon and spent every hour I head learning everything I need to know to work from home in voiceover. The rest is history!

I was able to get another job managing a different club, but within 4 moths I didn't even need it, I was making more money than I had ever in my life! And with my new found confidence my acting career started to flourish, I was able to move to New York in the middle of the pandemic, where I met the love of my life, and was able to afford to take her to Italy for her birthday!

Literally EVERYTHING in my life got better!
